The Waumbek Cottages Historic District is a historic district at 13, 18, 25, 36 Cottage Road and 14, 38 Starr King Road in Jefferson, New Hampshire. It consists of six summer cottages, the surviving elements of a colony which once included eleven, between U.S. Route 2 and Mount Starr King. The centerpiece of the colony was the grand Waumbek Hotel, which burned, along with three of the cottages, in 1928. These summer houses were built between 1890 and 1899 by either the hotel, members of its staff, or longtime patrons desiring a more private space. The landscape and setting feature spectacular views of the White Mountains to the south. The cottages are surmised to have been designed, based on similarity to other work, by Alfred Barlow, who designed a major addition to the hotel. All of the cottages are in the Shingle style, with Queen Anne-style porches.〔(【引用サイトリンク】title=NRHP nomination for Waumbek Cottages Historic District )〕 The district was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2006.〔 ==See also==
